Who Should Attend: Physicians, Nurses, Social Workers, Care/Case Managers, Pastoral Care and any healthcare care provider serving on their institutional ethics or palliative care committee; or with a general interest in bioethics or healthcare ethics.
OVERVIEW: Healthcare professionals are increasingly called upon to navigate complex situations where ethical obligations, legal standards, and clinical realities collide. This intensive, one-day Bioethics Bootcamp is designed to equip participants with practical tools and frameworks to approach these high-stakes decisions with clarity and confidence. Through a series of case-based and interactive sessions, attendees will explore pressing topics including guardianship, patient autonomy and decision-making capacity, care of forensic patients, and the legal risks inherent in clinical practice. Faculty will draw on real-world scenarios to examine how ethical principles and legal requirements intersect—and at times conflict—across diverse healthcare settings.
