Join healthcare professionals for a dynamic, full-day, in-person workshop exploring ethical dilemmas in SUDs, correctional health, and guardianship. Engage with colleagues, share insights, and deepen your understanding of these complex and timely issues in patient care.

Location:   1000 3rd Street, Beaver, PA  (Lower Level Conference Room)

Workshop Overview:  The complexities of substance use disorders (SUDs) present some of the most pressing ethical challenges in contemporary healthcare. During this workshop participants will explore the moral tensions between patient autonomy, beneficence, nonmaleficence, and justice in addressing substance use and addiction-related care, and explore ethical decision-making in the care of patients with SUDs, lifespan considerations in addiction, access to medication-assisted treatment in correctional settings, as well as ethical and legal issues surrounding guardianship for individuals with substance use histories and prior incarceration.
